Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The Experience

Who are we? Prison Island Grenoble is an indoor games and leisure facility including: a reception area, a bar, a relaxation area and 1200 m2 of play area with 28 cells containing challenges! Often confused with an escape game but completely different! In an escape game, you and your team generally have 1 hour 30 to explore a scenario based on reflection. At Prison Island Grenoble, it's a much larger play area with 28 cells containing 28 different challenges (physical, technical, intellectual). In addition, you are free to compose your course, to do and redo the challenges within the given time limits.
What does it consist of? With your team, try to escape from as many cells as possible. In case of failure, you can renew your attempts, or try your luck in new cells. Some cells may require several attempts before winning all the points! And watch out, the general timer is running!
What is the goal? Face the teams of the day, the week or the top 3 by winning a maximum of points! Each successful challenge allows you to earn between 25 and 100 points. Large screens, placed at reception and in the play area, will allow you to see your ranking in real time!
Do you need to be a great athlete? Well NO! The prison challenges are suitable for everyone, from the age of 7. The diversity of the tests and the concept based on teamwork allow everyone to participate according to their abilities and desires. A challenge that you like less?! No problem, you can skip to the next one without being blocked and continue to earn points!
How to dress? Plan comfortable clothing for light physical activity (sneakers, shorts and t-shirt). High heels are not allowed. A spare t-shirt may be desirable for those who want to explode the scores.
How to plan the activity? The game duration is 1h30. Add about 20 minutes for registration and team briefing. After the game, additional time may be added for debriefing, scores and refreshments.
How many people per team? Prison Island Grenoble can accommodate 24 teams of 5 people simultaneously. Ideally, for optimal playing comfort, teams of 3-4 people are recommended. The game is accessible to 2 people, only some challenges will be more complicated to achieve and you will not be able to claim the maximum points in some cells. All scenarios are possible and teams are configurable until the last moment at the checkout. Our team will guide you to the most comfortable solution. To respect the scoring, once the teams are launched, you must avoid mixing.
Where is the experience located? Located just 6km south of downtown Grenoble, at 29 rue des Glairaux, 38120 Saint-Égrève. Most GPS will take you there without problem. A parking lot is also available in front of the Prison whose red facade is easily identifiable.
Does the experience take place indoors or outdoors? The experience takes place indoors.
How long does the experience last? It depends on the option you choose! Prison Island Grenoble has 28 cells, it will take you a considerable time to travel through the prison, find the cells, understand the operation and manage to solve the challenges. In 1h30, count about 20 cells to do. This is an average observed on several teams, everything will depend on your speed of progression. No circuit, no plan!
Is there air conditioning in the venue? Yes.
Can I use my camera / camera during the experience? No, don't spoil the experience for the next players.
Will there be food and drinks for sale on site? We have a snacking service on site. A bar serving soft drinks and draft or bottled beers is available as well as some sweet or savory snacks. For any specific request, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Can I smoke or vape? No.
Is there a locker room or lockers? Lockers with padlocks are available, they will be suitable for jackets, coats and small bags. We recommend not bringing valuables, and leaving your bulky belongings in your car. Attention the use of the phone is prohibited in the games, for reasons of confidentiality, and to avoid any risk of breakage.
Are there toilets on site? Yes.
Will chairs be available during the experience? Will there be places to sit? Yes.
Will there be strobe lights? No.

Access

What is the minimum age required? Prison Island Grenoble is a concept for everyone. The minimum age to access the game is 7 years old. Children under 12 must be accompanied by at least one parent on the team for safety reasons, understanding of challenges, and to reassure them in a very immersive environment (sound effects, lights, sets, effects…). Ideal for families or for a birthday! Anyone entering the play area will be considered a player.
How long in advance should I arrive on site? What happens if I arrive late? To welcome you in the best conditions, it is necessary to arrive about 20 minutes before the time you planned to play. This time is required to welcome you, create and register teams, put belongings in lockers and attend the briefing. Impatient? Start thinking of a team name!
Are animals allowed? No, but assistance dogs are welcome.
Is the experience accessible to everyone? Most challenges and part of the game are not optimized for wheelchair access (presence of stairs, steps, sets…). The reception/reception and bar areas are accessible. However, in order to allow access to the concept for everyone, our team will put all its will and availability to find an adapted solution. In several cases, we were able to help and adapt the game format to allow everyone to have a good time.
Pregnant? I can do it! The game is done in teams, this allows you to follow your teammates at your own pace through the prison, to let the physical challenges that you don't think are achievable be done. Close to the action, you will be able to support and help your team in many ways. Need a break? You can leave the game and our team will allow you to rejoin your team during the game. Our concept is designed so that you don't miss anything from this adventure.
Are wheelchairs available for rent? No.
